Art I 2/27-3/2

Art I students continue to finish sculpture projects and prepare for 3rd quarter test next week.

Wearable Art 2/27-3/2

Wire wrapping this week.   By Friday students will have a completed clay bead jewelry piece as well as a glass bead wire wrapped piece.

2D/3D art 2/27-3/2

Firing slab projects this week.   Preparing slab drape mold for raku firing.

Adv. art 2/27-3/2

Students will turn in sketchbooks on Monday.  Sketchbooks should contain 2 reports over art periods, one before contemporary and one may be after WWII era.   3 sketches involved or inspired by chosen periods will be viewed and critiqued in class leading to the next project.

Art I 2/20-2/24

5th and 7th hour classes continue to work in clay, and will begin glazing bisqueware this week.

6th hour - continues to build toothpick sculptures.

Wearable Art 2/20-2/24

Critique steampunk items this week.  Learn wire wrapping techniques with glass beads. Altered book assignment - design piece involving glass beads and wire wrapping. Glass bead item to be turned in next week.

Adv. art 1/20-1/24

Students will critique paintings on Tuesday.  Begin research project on painting styles, leading into next painting.

art I 2/13-2/17

5th and 7th hour classes continue on clay - coil projects due at the end of this week!

6th hour - working on toothpick sculptures.   Building motifs using minimum of 100 toothpicks, when these are dry, construction begins.  The goal is to build a sculpture using the elements of rhythm unity and movement.

Wearable art 2/13-2/17

Cape/bustle/apron is due on FRIDAY!

All other steampunk attire turn in on Tuesday!

2D/3D 2/13-2/17

Students continue in the clay room - new rotation this week using the potters wheels and continuing on slab construction.

Adv. art 2/13- 2/ 17

Students will finish and turn in pointillism painting by the end of the week.

Art I 2/6-2/10

5th and 7th hour classes are continuing in the clay room, they are working on coil projects.

6th hour students are learning about art installations and how are can effect our environment.   6th hour sketchbook assignment is due on Wed. and will be over an installation artist, they must have an image printed in color to go with the critique style sketchbook assignment.

Wearable Art 2/6-2/10

Wearable students are working on steampunk assignment.  Monday demonstration for Apron/Cape/Bustle, all students will be making this project, and they will be due by the end of next week.  Students have 3 projects going at once and must stay self motivated for the duration of these assignments.

2D - 3D ART 2/6-2/10

Students are working in the Clay room.   6 students are working on the potters wheels, this is the 2nd week for them to continue improvement and learn to trim on the wheel.   All other students are working on a slab construction project.

Adv. Art 2/6-2/10

Students are continuing on painting in the style of pointillism or neo-impressionism.   We will be painting into next week as well.
