ART I 8/29-9/4

Students will begin a still life drawing this week, the focus is on composititon, contour line and pencil control.    Sketchbook - set up a small still life at home, using at least 3 objects and make a contour line drawing.   Students should spend at least one hour working.  Due on Thursday!

Wearable Art 8/29-9/4

Begin cutting and cleaning 2nd shape for pendant.  This week will we pierce, rivet, and oxidize.

2/D - 3/D ART 8/29-9/4

Continue working on 'skin and bones' still life.  This project will probably extend to mid next week.

ADV ART 8/29-9/4

Transferring design from planning and forming stage to large non-objective painting.  Paintings are due Sept.5th.  A 1/2 page written reflection will accompany the painting.

2/D - 3/D ART 8/22-8/26

Students work on compositional sketches of figures, and begin figurative still life "skin and bones"
Portfolios and painting palettes are due on TUESDAY the 23rd, only 1/2 credit if brought in one day late, no credit after one day late.

ADV ART 8/22-8/26

Students continue working on Non-Objective exercises, by Wed students will have decided what media they would like to continue with for the larger portion of this assignment.  Project will be due Sept. 2nd with sketches and reflections.

ART I 8/17-8/19

Students need Portfolio by Set. 2 - this consists of 2 pieces of cardboard 22" x26" taped down one long side.
Thursday - draw copy of Picasso's "Igor Stravinsky", discuss the Element LINE
Friday - take notes on Line, and complete samplings of different types of line.
  Art History - images and information.
Sketchbook assignment for next week - Self-Portrait, spend at least one hour on this drawing.

Wearable Art 9/17-9/19

Assignment given of "Title Page" in the Altered book.  This will be due on Tuesday, the 23rd.

2/D - 3/D ART 8/17-8/19

After going over the syllabus, students will begin brainstorming project ideas.  The first 9 week quarter has a theme of "the figure"  Thursday students begin Gesture drawing in the classroom with a volunteer model, Friday we will leave the classroom and gesture draw in motion.  Students need to bring in portfolios and painting palette.

ADV ART 8/17-8/19

This week we will develop the class syllabus and set our assignments and due dates.   Students will collaborate to set a high standard for accomplishment this year.   Students will bring a painting palette and portfolio by Friday the 19th.  30 pts.
